The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following position:

Responsible for The Messenger is a key member of support staff. He/she picks and carries messages, documents, packages and other items between offices or departments within the University and to other business concerns outside the Campus.

 

Duties and Responsibilities  
KEY Performance Area 1.      DAILY MAIL SCHEDULE:

  • Collect mail from Post Office and out-trays from all offices and departments;
  •  Sorts mail accordingly to facilitates ease of delivery;
  • Delivers mail and documents to various offices, departments and business entities that the University deals with;
  • Takes record of receipt of incoming mail, collected and delivered items;
  •  Collects outgoing mail from the Post Office and frank/stamp where necessary;
  •  Weights and determines postage required on outgoing mail and packages;
  •   Ensures that mail reaches its destination within reasonable time;
  •  Performing any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.

 

Minimum Qualification and

Other Requirements

  • JC Certificate required;
  • Experience as a Messenger would be added advantage;
  • Ability to speak and write in both English and Sesotho;
  • Ability to work out simple arithmetic;
  • Ability to respond on clients’ needs timeously;
  • Be able to work under pressure;
  •  Be honest and cooperative

Remuneration:

The University offers salaries and other benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.
