Chairman of the 15th NUL Council is Dr. Khabele Matlosa. The 15th NUL Council was inaugurated on 29 June, 2023.

He holds a PhD in Political Economy obtained from the University of the Western Cape in South Africa; a Postgraduate Diploma in Conflict Resolution from Uppsala University in Sweden and a Master of Arts in Development Studies from the University of  Leeds in the United Kingdom.

Dr. Matlosa is a proud alumni of the National University of Lesotho having obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and Political Science from this institution.
