Faculty of Education Strengthens Career Guidance Outreach

On 25th April, 2026,  the Faculty of Education at the National University of Lesotho (NUL) expanded its career guidance outreach to Mafeteng District, engaging learners at Hope English Medium High School in a programme designed to prepare them for the transition to tertiary education.

The initiative was structured into two impactful sessions. In the first session, NUL lecturers, alongside third-year students, delivered engaging presentations on modern teaching theories, emphasizing innovative, learner-centred approaches and the need to adapt to evolving educational environments.

The second session provided an interactive platform for Grade 11 learners, where NUL students shared first-hand academic experiences and practical strategies for excelling in final examinations. They also offered valuable insight into University life, helping learners better understand and prepare for the demands of higher education.

This outreach forms part of the Faculty’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and educational development. It focused on equipping teachers with skills in integrated curriculum design, multimodal pedagogies, and Generative AI literacy, while strengthening the link between theory and classroom practice.

Through initiatives such as this, NUL continues to play a pivotal role in empowering both educators and learners, fostering informed decision-making and supporting a smoother transition from secondary to tertiary education.
