In a significant stride towards enhancing education, research, and community development, the National University of Lesotho officially formalised its collaboration with the Malealea Development Trust and Sheffield Hallam University on 26 June, 2023. This tripartite partnership marks a promising new chapter in the pursuit of academic excellence, socio-economic progress, and sustainable growth for the people of Lesotho and beyond.
In his remarks, the NUL Vice-Chancellor, Professor Isaac Olusola Fajana made reference to the University’s Internationalization Policy which states that NUL is a global institution that leverages on partnerships and collaborations from all over the world.
“For us at the NUL, we are happy as ever, and as always, to be collaborating to further our core mandate of research, teaching, outreach, innovation and industrialization. I have had a privileged peep into the contents of the MOU. I am unrepentantly persuaded that this is the way to go by all of us”, Prof. Fajana indicated.
Prof. Fajana congratulated the Faculty of Law for bringing the harvest and urged the entire university to make the most out of this arrangement drawing honour and recognition to themselves and greater visibility and relevance to the NUL.
The partnership, aimed at fostering knowledge exchange, cultural enrichment, and regional development, has been a long-anticipated endeavor that holds immense potential for the academic and social landscape of the region. By bringing together the National University of Lesotho, a prominent higher education institution; the Malealea Development Trust, a community-focused organization; and Sheffield Hallam University, a renowned institution with international standing, this collaboration promises a wide range of benefits for all stakeholders involved.
