She teaches qualitative and quantitative social research methods; sociology of migration; sociology of rural communities; sociology of environment; social impact assessment; urban sociology. Her research interests include: gender studies; social impact studies; public participation; migration; food security; rural community studies; ethnographic studies; sociology of education.

Dr. Lipalesa Mathe

Dr. Lipalesa Mathe qualifications are BA Sociology (NUL); MSc Sociology (NUL); PhD Sociology (UNISA). She mainly teaches Sociology courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels mainly in industrial sociology. Among the courses she teaches are Sociology of Family, Sociological Theories (Classical and Contemporary), Sociology of Work, Industrial Sociology, Human Resources Sociology, Professions and Occupations, and Industrial Relations. Her research interests include determinants of social behaviour, family studies, employment issues, academic identity, and professions and occupations.
