Staff Faculty: Economics

Sylvester Lelimo is a Lecturer and an undergraduate research coordinator in the Department of Economics, National University of Lesotho. He also coordinates student association with the department, on behalf of all members. He has 3 years of working experience as the Lecturer. His research interests lie in the Agricultural Sector, but more into Food Security, Climate change and Off-Farm activities, as well as child poverty and well being. He is currently working on localising the Economics subject in Lesotho at secondary educational level, with Examinations Council of Lesotho (Ecol).

‘Mapalesa Ts’episo Elizabeth Rapapa is a Lecturer in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Transport Economics, Regulation and Development Economics. Her research interests are on poverty, fertility and gender related issues as well as transport and regulation related issues. She has been conducting desk research on Lesotho National Budgets and made presentations to Lesotho Government, NGOs, CSOs and Lesotho National Assembly. She has some published articles in refereed journal articles, has conducted a tracer study for NUL graduates and has been engaged in other professional activities including supervision of undergraduate research projects and Masters Dissertations as well as reviewing of research papers. She has served as a First Year Tutor and Head Tutor for Faculty of Social Sciences as well as Head of Department of Economics. She has also served as a member of board of directors for several Lesotho organizations and as a member in international professional bodies.

Khothalo Mohlori-Sepamo is a Lecturer in the department of Economics since 2013 and also a departmental Postgraduate coordinator. She has completed different courses relating to Microeconomics, Environmental economics and Natural Resources Economics. Her main research interests include environment economics, natural resources economics, climate change and agricultural economics. She is a member of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (AERE).

Lerato Mothae is a lecturer in the department of Economics specialising in Financial Economics and Monetary Economics, a tutor of the Faculty of Social Sciences and the representative in the Senate Business committee. She is currently a board member of National University of Lesotho Defined Contribution Pension Fund. Her research interests are Financial Econometrics, Time Series Data Analysis, Resource Mobilization.
