Ms Mamoeletsi Monyane

Lecturer

Ms Monyane is Lecturer in Library and Information Studies (LIS) Unit in the Department of English, the Faculty of Humanities. She teaches courses such as Information Resource Description, Application of ICT to Library and Information Studies and Emerging Technologies and Issues. She also supervises undergraduate students’ research projects. Her research interests include the application of ICT in libraries and library systems.

Mr Rafoneke is a Library and Information Studies Lecturer in the Department of English, the Faculty of Humanities. He is teaching such areas as Library & Information Studies and Archives & Records Management. Mr Rafoneke holds Diploma in Library and Information Studies at the National University of Lesotho (NUL), a Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Studies from the University of Botswana (UB) and a Master’s Degree in Archives and Records Management (MARM), from the University of Botswana (UB). His research interests are in record and information management, preservation and conservation of library and archival materials, electronic records management and systems. He is currently a student at the University of South Africa (UNISA) pursuing his Doctor of Philosophy in Information Science

Phillip Leteka

Lecturer (Theatre and Drama)

Phillip Leteka is a Maseru-based writer, filmmaker, and Fulbright Scholar. He holds a filmmaking MFA from the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. His films “My Education” and “You’ve Changed” explore displacement and personal change, while his short stories have appeared in notable collections. He participated in Berlinale Talents and Talents Durban film labs, and is developing a project, “The Lamb of Ha – ‘Matli”. Leteka collaborates with filmmaker Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese through Mokoari Street, working on “Ancestral Visions of the Future or Pageantry of Wailing”. He is also the founder and editor of the upcoming “Mamosetse”, a magazine focusing on convergent storytelling in fiction and narrative non-fiction. In 2023, he was selected as a fellow for the Mastercard Enablement Programme for his “Majoaneng—Academy of Images and Letters” initiative, aimed at training young filmmakers in Lesotho. He formerly taught filmmaking at Limkokwing University and currently lectures at the National University of Lesotho.

Maboleba Kolobe is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at the National University of Lesotho. She teaches applied linguistics with specialisation in Morphology. Her research interests include how languages of the world grow, naming systems, media language, and language and society. Associate Professor Kolobe is currently coordinating postgraduate programmes in the Faculty of Humanities and promoting collaborative research among staff in the Faculty. She has published widely on applied linguistics.

Senior lecturer in the Department of English, Faculty of Humanities, at the National University of Lesotho. She has been teaching undergraduate courses such as Communication and Study Skills, Communication and Academic Literacy Skills, Introduction to English Grammar, Applied Grammar, and Syntax. She has also supervised undergraduate research projects. In addition, she has been engaged as a coordinator of Communication & Study Skills Unit and she has been part of the Faculty of Humanities Committees such as Projects & Linkages Committee. Her research interests include Advanced Academic Writing Skills, Applied Grammar and English as a Second/Foreign Language.

Mokhoele A. Hala-hala is Senior Lecturer in the Department of English, the Faculty of Humanities, at the National University of Lesotho. He has been teaching such undergraduate courses as Communication and Study Skills, Applied Grammar, Discourse Analysis, Pragmatics, Specialised CSS and Editing & Publishing. His research interests include Applied Grammar, (Variationist) Sociolinguistics, World (New) English Studies, Critical Discourse Analysis, Onomastics, Mass Communication and Cultural Studies. He has also taught Communication and Educational Research Methods courses in the part-time B.Ed Primary programme offered by the Faculty of Education. He has further been engaged in various structures of the university, particularly such roles as tutor, member of the Research & Conference Committee (FoH), co-supervisor and Sub-ASAC member (FoE), to mention just a few. Added to the above are the following scholarly/academic activities in which Dr Hala-hala has been engaged. He has been teaching English and Professional Communication Skills part-time at the St Augustine’s Major Seminary, Roma, since 2014 to date. As an academic, amongst others, with hands-on experience in teaching the Editing and Publishing course over the seven years at an undergraduate level, Dr Hala-hala has reviewed, edited and proofread many academic research works in various areas of study, particularly dissertations or theses by master’s and doctoral students as well as scholarly manuscripts for publishing by academics.

Dr. Lesole Kolobe is a Lecturer in the Department of English, Faculty of Humanities, at the National University of Lesotho. He has been teaching such undergraduate courses as Communication and Study Skills, Poetry, Literatures of the Diaspora, Literature and Gender, World Fiction & Critical Life Issues among many others. His research interests include Cyberspace Literature, African Oral Literature, Mass Communication and Cultural studies. He has also taught Communication and Educational Research Methods courses in the part-time B.Ed Adult Education programme offered by the University’s Institute of Extra Mural Studies (IEMS).

I am a lecturer in The English Department of the National University of Lesotho. I have been teaching undergraduate courses in Communication and Study Skills, Remedial Grammar/English for Professional Use, Sociolinguistics as well as supervising 4th year projects in Sociolinguistics. My research area is South African varieties of English and language policies in Southern African countries. I am currently serving on the Faculty of Humanities Admissions Committee and on the staff welfare division of the English Department.
