Mr. Mokonyana Mohale is registered with the Lesotho Medical, Dental and Pharmacy Council as a Pharmacist. He is engaged in the Department of Pharmacy as a Lab Demonstrator. His duties include supervision of Pharmacy students’ laboratory sessions, co-supervision of Pharmacy students’ final year research and testing and evaluation of safety of herbal commercial medicines.

Dr Poloko S. Kheoane is a Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health Sciences, NUL. He teaches Pharmaceutics modules at different levels within the Department of Pharmacy and he is a Postgraduate Studies Coordinator in the Faculty of Health Sciences. Dr Kheoane’s current research focus is on different nano-structures (e.g. lipid and polymeric nanoparticles) as novel drug delivery systems for both allopathic drugs and phytochemicals. His research focus is particularly on cancer, diabetes, inflammation and bacterial and/or fungal infections.

He is responsible for teaching basic sciences, Physiology and Biochemistry across the departments of the Faculty as well as supervising undergraduate research projects Research interests include neurophysiology, diabetes and its microvascular complications such as diabetic neuropathy, nephropathy and retinopathy.

Ms. Sooro is a lecturer at the National University of Lesotho, in the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health Science. She is registered with the Lesotho Medical, Dental and Pharmacy Council as a Pharmacologist and an active member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Lesotho. She is a member of the NUL Institutional Research Board (IRB). Her research interests are in evidence-based complementary and alternative medicine in cancer and autophagy in cancer therapeutics.

Mr. Rasemoko Polile is registered with Lesotho Medical, Dental and Pharmacy Council as a Pharmacist and registered with South African society for basic and Clinical pharmacology (SASBCP) as a pharmacologist. I am currently working as a lecturer in Clinical pharmacy in the Department of Pharmacy (NUL), and I’m also a PhD student affiliated with UKZN school of Health Sciences. My research interests focus in the management of non-communicable disease complications, antimicrobial resistance in clinical settings, artificial intelligence in screening and diagnosis of non-communicable disease; mental health disorders in clinical settings; traditional medicines phytochemical analysis; monitoring of end-stage renal disease patients using haemodialysis; drug utilization review in psychotropics and ; pre-clinical studies and in vitro testing of efficacy and toxicity of herbal medicines.

He is currently a medicinal chemistry lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health Sciences, NUL. His research interests are to isolate and characterize bioactive compounds from the flora of Lesotho, towards discovery of new antibiotics that exhibit good activities against clinically –isolated strains of resistant bacteria.

I am a registered pharmacist with Lesotho Medical, Dental and Pharmacy Council and a senior lecturer in the pharmacy department. I am among the pioneers who started the Faculty of Health Sciences and Pharmacy program. I also started pharmacy at a Paediatric AIDS Clinic as a consultant pharmacist. I was also involved in starting the first cancer chemotherapy treatment in Lesotho. My research interests lie in primary and community health for communicable and non-communicable diseases, e.g. HIV, TB and cancer. Again, my other research interests include developing formulations, including oral and topical preparations for pain relief. I have been involved in different partnerships with different universities in the African continent and health facilities in the country. I have vast experience in data analysis and use for healthcare workers. Together with colleagues, we have developed training materials for data analysis and use. Training of all cadres for health took place between 2022 and 2023. In addition, I have experience in developing a community of practice (COP) in data analysis and use.
