A Laboratory Demonstrator in the Department of Environmental Health Science whose main duties include running and supervising students’ laboratory sessions. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health Science and prospecting for a Master’s degree in the same field.

Mainly in occupational and environmental health, climate change and global warming.

Ms Hlabana is an environmental analyst by profession and a member of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC). She supervises undergraduate laboratory sessions and assists in research involving chemical and biological analysis. Her research interests include organic synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates and environmental analysis. She is also an entrepreneurship ecosystem builder and a member of Global Entrepreneurship Network. She is an author and entrepreneur currently incubated under the NUL Innovation Hub/Lesotho Entrepreneurship Hub and Seed Financing Facility project (CAFI) 2023/2024 Cohort.

She holds an MSc. Environmental Technology degree and has research interests in Hazardous and Solid Waste Management (where Healthcare/Biological Waste is the main interest), Emergency Preparedness and Response, Biosafety and Biosecurity and Communicable Disease control. She holds several collaborative efforts with the health sector including Environmental Health and International Health Regulations initiatives. She currently serves as a the secretariat of the National Biosafety and Biosecurity Technical Working Group and is a certified by Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention as an African Regional Subject Matter Expert in Biological Waste Management.

Ponts’o Letlotlo Joyce Letuka is an environmental health practitioner, born in Lesotho in May 1994, and moved to the Republic of South Africa to further her studies in 2016. Ms Letuka began her academic career at the National Health Training College in Lesotho where she obtained her Diploma in Environmental Health. In 2016, she registered with the Central University of Technology, where she has since completed her B.Tech and Master of Science in Environmental Health. Currently, she is pursuing her PhD at CUT and was also an exchange student at Uppsala University in Sweden. Throughout her studies, she has been a recipient of scholarly awards [funding] from CUT, NRF, NMDS and Erasmus+ KA107- International Credit Mobility. She is currently employed as a lecturer in environmental health at the National University of Lesotho and serves as the Head of Department. She has been serving as a coordinator in the SASUF Student Network representing the Central University of Technology since 2023
