Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences – Assoc. Prof. Regina Thetsane
Associate Professor Regina M. Thetsane is the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the National University of Lesotho and an established scholar in Business Administration. She holds a Doctoral Degree in Business Administration and teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in strategic management, marketing management, and entrepreneurship.
Her academic career reflects a strong commitment to teaching, research, and institutional leadership. She has progressed through several roles within the Faculty of Social Sciences, including serving as a Tutor and Head of the Department of Business Administration.
She assumed the deanship of the Faculty of Social Sciences in January 2026 and is currently providing strategic and academic leadership, with a focus on strengthening research, enhancing programme quality, and fostering institutional partnerships. In addition to her academic responsibilities, she has undertaken commissioned research and provided professional consultancy services to the Government of Lesotho and various international organisations.
Professor Thetsane’s research interests lie in strategic and general management, marketing management, entrepreneurship and innovation management, higher education management, and human capital development. Her work places particular emphasis on the strategic and operational dynamics of emerging and regulated industries, including the medicinal cannabis sector. She has published extensively in accredited, peer-reviewed journals, contributed chapters to scholarly books, and authored policy papers for the United Nations. She has also supervised and mentored postgraduate students, contributing to academic capacity development in the region.
Beyond her scholarly work, Professor Thetsane is actively engaged in academic and professional service. She is a member of the Southern African Institute of Management Scientists (SAIMS) and serves as the Lesotho Regional Nominator for the PhD Hub at North-West University Business School, where she mentors doctoral candidates. She has presented her research at national and international conferences, served as a reviewer for academic journals, and contributed to programme evaluations for the Council on Higher Education (CHE) in Lesotho.
