Mr. Relebohile J. Matobo

Special Education Needs Assistant

Relebohile Matobo is a Special Education Needs Assistant at the National University of Lesotho in the Special Education Unit. He advocates for and facilitates the learning of students with disabilities at the University. His duties include, among others, converting print materials into Braille and other accessible formats for the visually impaired students. He also equips such students with Orientation and Mobility as well as daily living independent skills. Mr. Matobo worked as a Life Skills teacher and Braille transcriber at St. Bernadette Primary School and represented the school at a four-year training on Inclusive Education and issues related to Visual Impairment, held by the Lesotho National League of the Visually Impaired Persons (LNLVIP). He currently serves students with disabilities in the Faculty of Education, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Social Sciences and Faculty of Law, in different years of study (1st to 5th year) and his clientele comprises both males and female (14 visually impaired & 1 hard of hearing).

Nthama Matsie is a lecturer and researcher in the Educational Foundations Department (EDF). She teaches courses in Inclusive Education and Educational Support Services at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Her research interests are in Educational Psychology generally and learner Support Services.

Mahlape Tseeke is a lecturer in the Department of Educational Foundations in the Special Education Unit at the National University of Lesotho. She teaches Special Education and Psychology of Education courses at graduate and undergraduate levels. Her research interests include Inclusive Education, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Sensory Disabilities. Ms Tseeke is currently serving as a 2nd Year Tutor in the Faculty of Education at NUL.

Dr. Rakolobe is a lecturer in the Department of Educational Foundations at the National University of Lesotho. She holds a PhD in Education Policy Studies from the University of the Free State. Her research interests are in education policy, social justice, sexual diversity and children’s rights in education. She has written several articles for The Post newspaper on current affairs and education related issues. She teaches Introduction to the Foundations of Education, Non-formal Education (Undergraduate level), Education Law and Education Policy, Planning and Practice (Honours level) and supervises students at Master’s and PhD.

Ms. Mosola is an assistant lecturer in the department of Educational Foundations (Special Education Unit) at National University of Lesotho. She teaches Special Education courses and specializes in Sign Language education as well as education for the hearing and visually impaired persons. Her overall research and community service projects focus on student and teacher support and innovative teaching practices in responding to trends in inclusive education. Ms. Mosola is currently a member of Faculty of Education marketing team.

Isaiah M. Makhetha is a lecturer in the Department of Educational Foundations at the National University of Lesotho. He teaches educational administration and management courses at the graduate and honours levels. He supervises students who are pursuing Masters degree in the Department of Educational Foundations. Isaiah M. Makhetha is also a priest. He is the Sub-Dean at St. Mary and St. James Cathedral at Maseru West. His research interests include issues related to managerial matters, gender issues in education and administrative issues in education.

Mrs Nthatisi Puputla is a Biology Education lecturer at NUL. She holds MSc. Ed degree in Biology education and BSc. Ed degree in Biology and Geography education both obtained from NUL in 2005 and 2021 respectively. Before joining NUL as a lecturer, Nthatisi was a high school Biology teacher for 15 years. She is a member of Southern African Association for Research in Mathematics, Science and Technology Education (SAARMSTE), through Lesotho Chapter.

Mr. Sechaba Koma

Lecturer

Sechaba Koma is a Physics Education lecturer at NUL. He holds MSc. Ed degree in physics education and BSc. Ed degree in physics and mathematics education both obtained from NUL in 2012 and 2018 respectively. Before joining NUL as a lecturer, Sechaba was a high school physics and mathematics teacher for 8 years, then inspector in the Ministry of Education and Training for 1 year and 7 months. He is a member of Southern African Association for Research in Mathematics, Science and Technology Education (SAARMSTE), through Lesotho Chapter. Research interests: Effective pedagogical strategies in physics and use of technology in science education.
